Minecraft Bedrock: enabling commands and typing them in chat

by GG Guides ·

About Minecraft

To use commands, cheats must be enabled, either when you create a world or by editing an existing one. Heads-up: enabling cheats disables achievements for that world. Setting the default game mode to Creative also turns cheats on.

You also need the “operator commands” permission. It is on by default in new worlds you create; otherwise open the pause menu and click the icon to the right of your player to manage permissions.

In chat, type / to see the list of commands. Tab cycles through the suggestions, and the up arrow brings back your previous commands.

Syntax: / then the command name, then its arguments separated by spaces (e.g. /say Hello World). In help, an argument in angle brackets is required, one in square brackets is optional. /help lists the commands; /help followed by a command name shows its syntax.
