Apex Legends: how Ranked matchmaking builds squads

How a Ranked squad is built The matchmaker pulls 60 available players of similar RP, sorts them by RP and splits the list into thirds. Each squad gets one player from the top third, one from the middle and one from the bottom.
Playing with friends You can still squad up with players up to two rank tiers apart. A one-tier restriction was tested, but the developers are not making it permanent. The solo-queue-only test for Diamond, Master and Predator is not becoming a requirement either.
On the pre-match display A squad with one Masters player and a squad of three Predators currently look the same there.
