Apex Legends: the switch to EA Javelin Anticheat on PC

Since September 29, 2026, Apex Legends on PC uses EA Javelin Anticheat instead of Easy Anti-Cheat (Epic Games).
What you need to do Download the game update you are prompted for, then launch Apex Legends: the move to Javelin is automatic. No need to enable Secure Boot in your BIOS for Apex, unlike some other EA games: download, install, play.
What about consoles? EA keeps investing in data models and server-side detection aimed at console-specific cheats.
Reminder: Apex Legends is free to play on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC (EA app, Epic and Steam).
